Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse - Youth Head Coaches Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse Association is seeking 2 boys youth lacrosse coaches for the 2023 Spring and Fall seasons. We are seeking energetic coaches with a strong knowledge of lacrosse, skill development, and coaching techniques as well as a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire young athletes. In particular, we are looking for a candidate that is positive minded and encouraging that can serve as a role model.

Founded in 2009 with a team of 20 boys, Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse has grown to over 150 boys and girls, grades K thru 12. Serving the greater Fort Worth area as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse is committed to providing an opportunity for all youth to experience, learn, and play the great game of lacrosse. Our goal is to give each athlete the opportunity to play, enjoy and excel to the best growth and development of their stage of the game. The city of Fort Worth (population 892,000) is home to the Panther City Lacrosse Club from the NLL, the only professional lacrosse franchise in the state of Texas. This has driven a significant interest in lacrosse in the city and an opportunity to grow the youth program. We feel strongly that there is a significant opportunity to wake a sleeping giant of lacrosse here with the right coaches. The Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse board is committed to supporting our coaches and providing all the resources necessary.

Positions available: 2 Head Coach positions 5/6th grade Head Coach 7/8th grade Head Coach Essential Functions: Represent the Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse program and the sport of lacrosse in a positive and respectful manner at any and all events and gatherings. Act as a role model and foster an environment of respect, tolerance, integrity, and sportsmanship. Be prepared and punctual for all coaching responsibilities. Manage game day logistics: lineups, substitutions, strategy. Develop and implement daily practice plans to effectively motivate and train athletes. Work with boys program director and other youth coaches to ensure consistent methodology across youth teams.

Appointment: Annual (2022-2023) contingent upon renewal Spring program: beginning in early January 2023 and ends late April 2023 (approximately 3-4 events per week) Fall program: mid-September 2023 to November 2023 (1-2 events per week on weekend). Practice and 1-2 tournaments and/or scrimmages.

Qualifications & Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional, positive, and respectful relationships with players, other coaches, officials, parents, and members of the club's board. Willing and able to coach within an overall system to ensure players are ready for the next level within the program. Remain aware of all legal liabilities related to all athletic activities and ensure a safe environment for all athletes.

Complete knowledge and understanding of the rules of the game (NCAA and DFWL). Previous lacrosse playing experience preferred (NCAA, MCLA, JUCO, High School). Salary: Negotiable, based on experience level. Other information: Candidates must pass a state mandated background check and be a US Lacrosse member (provided by Fort Worth Youth Lacrosse).
