Bishop Lynch High School

Bishop Lynch High School seeks a mission-driven assistant coach for Men’s Lacrosse to lead the program and actively coordinate the development and promotion of the sport. Alongside the head coach, the assistant coach will support in providing leadership and oversight at practices, games, competitions and special events.

An assistant coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) and all governing organizations. Reporting to the head coach, the assistant coach must maintain a high level of ethical behavior and be an outstanding motivator.

Job Expectations & Responsibilities

Individual duties will consist of, but are not limited to:

  • Inspire, motivate, encourage and develop each student-athlete while teaching contemporary and educationally appropriate techniques, rules and strategies.

  • Lead and promote members of the program.

  • Serve as a positive role model for students and the community.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, staff, school administration and all stakeholders.

  • Plan and participate in summer camps.

  • Organize and schedule practice sessions and develop educationally and age-appropriate game/performance strategies.

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with players, parents, vendors and head coaches.

  • Attend all games, all practices, and THSLL competition as necessary.

  • Actively promote the formation of students and leadership development through the program.

  • Assume responsibility for inventory, selection and care of equipment/uniforms.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of lacrosse.

  • A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to operate in a professional manner.

  • Ability to effectively resolve conflict.

  • Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Committed to holistic student development and high ethical standards.
