Plano West High School Junior Varsity Head Coach/Varsity Assistant Coach Opening
Essential Functions: Represent Plano West Lacrosse Club (PWLC) throughout the lacrosse community in a positive, professional manner at all practices, scrimmages, games, and events. Lead a team of young men and continue to help them grow their love for the sport. Act as a role model and foster an environment of respect, tolerance, integrity, and sportsmanship. Be prepared and punctual for all coaching responsibilities. Be prepared for game day logistics: lineups, substitutions, strategy. Help to develop and implement daily practice plans to effectively motivate and train athletes in collaboration with the PWLC Varsity Head Coach(es).
Fall Program: Beginning September 3 and running through Thanksgiving Weekend
Spring program: beginning in early January of 2025 and ending in late April, or early May of 2025 (approximately 5-6 events per week)
Qualifications & Skills: Previous coaching experience. Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional, positive, and respectful relationships with student-athletes, coaches, officials, parents, and members of the PWLC community. Willing to coach within a system that continues to ensure all PWLC players are ready for the next level within the program and ultimately following graduation should they wish. Remain aware of all legal liabilities related to all athletic activities and ensure a safe environment for all athletes. Complete knowledge and understanding of the rules of the game (NCAA, SPC and THSLL)
Previous lacrosse playing experience (NCAA, MCLA, JUCO, or experience as a High School JV or Varsity coach)
Salary: To be discussed, based on experience level. Candidates must pass a state mandated background check and be a USA Lacrosse member prior to hire.
