THE WOODLANDS, TX (Tuesday, November 2, 2010) Fox College, a national network that is part of the Fox family, will televise live the two championship games of the Texas High School Lacrosse League State Championship (THSLL), on Sunday, May 8 at 12 noon and 2:30 pm.

The Texas High School Lacrosse League State Championship itself is set for Mother's Day weekend, May 7 - 8, 2011 at Woodforest Bank Stadium, according to John Rizzuti, President of The Woodlands Lacrosse Association (WLA). Hosted by the WLA, the top four teams in Boy's High School Lacrosse from around the state in Divisions I and II will face off in semi-final games on Saturday, May 7. The State Championship will be decided on Sunday, May 8 as the top two teams left standing in each division compete for the title.
Jeff Watts Production, Inc., the leader in sports productions in the Southwest, will produce the show. Jeff Watt Productions produces for ESPN, CBS College, Fox College, CBS / TXA21 in DFW, Fox Sports Southwest, and many college conferences including the Southland Conference Television Network.
"The popularity of lacrosse in Texas has been incredible with many of the Texas athletes now receiving scholarships to some of the Ivy League and Big East schools," said Jeff Watts, Owner and Executive Producer for Jeff Watt Productions.�We are excited to produce the two championship games on May 8 for Fox College, a national network which is part of the Fox family, to lacrosse enthusiasts from Texas and across the nation.�
The televising of this Championship is a boost to the sport of lacrosse. "The Texas High School Lacrosse League, home to over 3,500 high school student athletes in Texas, and the THSLL State Championship weekend, is excited to have this opportunity to showcase the best-of-the-best. Having the competition televised is a significant win for these student athletes and the sport of lacrosse in Texas," said Ray Martin, Commissioner of the Texas High School Lacrosse League. "We are excited that our League is going to be exposed to fans and families who cannot make it to Woodforest Stadium to see the games in person. It will be a great weekend of lacrosse!"
The THSLL State Championship is sponsored by the City of Shenandoah, St. Luke's Lakeside Hospital, Harrow Lacrosse and Trilogy Lacrosse. Free admission is available for youth lacrosse players when they wear their team game jerseys or team spirit wear (Young Guns, Middle School and Junior High). Youth under five years of age are admitted free. Admission for youth and adults, 65 and over, is $5 while adult ticket prices are $10.
The Woodlands Lacrosse Association is an umbrella organization representing over 300 lacrosse players and their families from the Young Guns and Young Dolls to the varsity programs for both Girls and Boys. For more information on the WLA, visit www.woodlandslax.com.
