Georgetown Youth Lacrosse is currently seeking to fill the position(s) of High School Varsity Head and Assistant coaches.
Georgetown Texas is located approximately 21 miles North of Austin.
 
Description of position
The goal is to build a coaching staff that will bring balance to the team and game.  As such, we are seeking two coaches, one experienced teaching and coaching defense, as well as, a second coach with experience teaching and coaching offense.  The hiring committee will determine which coach will be considered the “head” coach.
 
Minimum qualifications
A successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
 
  1. College lacrosse experience as a player and/or coach, preferred.
  2. U.S. Lacrosse level 3 coaching certification, preferred.
  3. Two years of demonstrated successful coaching experience at the high school or college level.
  4. A passion for the game.
  5. Demonstrate understanding of budget process, assist the Board of Directors with budget development and assist with managing the approved budget.
  6. Serve as a positive role model while effectively motivating and developing high school players of varying levels of ability and experience.
  7. Communicate, implement and enforce GYL player and student code of conduct, as well as, player contracts.
  8. Communicate and implement injury awareness and monitor player injuries and rehabilitation, including concussion base line testing and post- concussion testing and rehabilitation.
  9. Communicate effectively and collaborate with parents and VP/Director of GYL BoD on program development, player recruitment, volunteer support, player discipline, etc.
  10. Familiar with and comply with league rules and maintain positive working relationships with the league.
