Prosper Lacrosse Head Coach Opening Posted on June 03, 2025 Head Coach Position: Head Varsity Coach Season: Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 (with potential for renewal),District: North Texas Prosper ISD / Class B (anticipated) Are you ready to build something special in one of Texas' fastest-growing communities? Join us in shaping the next generation of Prosper Lacrosse. Prosper Youth Sports Association (PYSA) is in search of a passionate, experienced, and forward-thinking Head Coach to guide the Prosper High School Men's Lacrosse Program for the 2025-2026 season. The ideal candidate will manage all components of the program, including Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, while also working closely with PYSA's youth development pipeline. This position demands strong leadership on and off the field, along with a firm dedication to fostering a culture of excellence, character, and sportsmanship. The Prosper Lacrosse program draws from a solid lacrosse background and benefits from a strong youth pipeline, dedicated families, and supportive infrastructure. We are looking for a coach who shares our long-term vision and passion for continued lacrosse growth in Prosper. Qualifications: Prior collegiate playing or coaching experience preferred Deep knowledge of the game, coaching strategies, and player development fundamentals Proven leadership ability and experience managing high school-age athletes Organizational skills to manage scheduling, team coordination, and off-field responsibilities Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes and families Passion for teaching the game and fostering a positive team environment Experience mentoring assistant coaches and developing JV and youth-level staff Strong understanding of high school league regulations and ethical coaching practices Responsibilities: Lead the Prosper High School Lacrosse program and provide strategic oversight and alignment with the Prosper Youth Lacrosse program. Design and implement a year-round training curriculum, including preseason, in-season, and offseason programs. Plan and execute structured practices, game strategies, and player evaluations Recruit and mentor assistant coaches who align with the programâ€™s values and vision Collaborate with PYSA and school stakeholders on scheduling, logistics, and player support Function as the face of the Prosper HS Lacrosse program at community events and recruiting showcases Promote player development pathways, including opportunities to play at the collegiate level â€¢ Instill a culture of accountability, teamwork, and academic discipline among players Uphold and enforce team standards, code of conduct, and academic eligibility Work closely with PYSA youth coaches to support player engagement and development Maintain compliance with all relevant league rules and reporting requirements Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, with performance-based incentives available. Smithson Valley High School Assistant Coaching Opening Posted on June 03, 2025 Smithson Valley High School Assistant Coach: The Smithson Valley High School Boys Lacrosse Club represents Smithson Valley High School, Pieper High School, and surrounding private school in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL). Our governing board is actively searching for qualified candidates for the position of Varsity Assistant Coach. About Smithson Valley LAX: The Smithson Valley Lacrosse program was officially established in 2009 after some boys from the Smithson Valley area joined with kids from San Antonio to play with the team, under the direction of Dr. Keith Markey, playing for the north side of San Antonio at Concordia Lutheran. The following year boys from Smithson Valley were the majority of the boys playing the game. That year we had 28 boys; 5 from San Antonio and the rest from Smithson Valley causing the sport to catch on. Kelly Evers, an 8th grade history teacher at SVMS and a former player for Cornell Lacrosse, was the first to accept the position of head coach of the Smithson Valley middle school level team. In 2011, we grew into a full program, opening it up to kids from kindergarten to 12th grade to play on our club teams. In fall of 2010 we joined CTYLA (Central Texas Youth Lacrosse Association) for the 2011 season and with the guidance of a fantastic board and support system in CTYLA, we were a huge success. In the 2011 season we had 85 participants in the program, a mix of boys and girls however only played as boy's teams due to a lack of girls in order to form and independent girl's league. This was also our first year to enter THSLL as a D2 high school program. We did well and went to the first round of district playoffs, only to be defeated by St. Mary's Hall. After a very successful season in 2012, once again we made it to the second round of district playoffs to be defeated by St Mary's Hall. In 2019 we were runner up in the D2 State Championship game and have been a competitive force with the Austin area teams with deep runs into the post season. In 2024 we added both youth and high school girls lacrosse to our organization as we continue to support the growth of the sport. Today out program consists of 120 boys and girls representing our schools and community in the Bulverde/Spring Branch area What to expect: The Smithson Valley LAX board oversees the business aspects of the club, including coach contract oversight, fundraising, sponsorships, registrations, parent relations, and defining strategic goals. Smithson Valley LAX coaches enjoy coaching autonomy, and a supportive board open to your advice and recommendations for day-to-day operations and longer-term strategic vision for the club. Preferred Candidates must exhibit: Exceptionally high lacrosse IQ with previous coaching experience . Collegiate lacrosse playing experience (NCAA Division I/II/III preferred). Strong organizational analytical skills on the field to enable tactical pivots. Proper sportsmanship and respect for players, officials, opponents, fans, and other coaches. Mentorship of player-athletes by modeling behavior and advancing technical ability. Key Responsibilities: Represent Smithson Valley LAX positively in the community and with local area middle and high school athletic programs, and THSLL. Administer spring regular season (January- May, with 4-5 evenings of practice with games in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston). We are looking for an energetic coach with a strong offense and defense lacrosse background who wants to teach and mentor young high school athletes and contribute to the growth of the Atascocita Lacrosse program.
