Friendswood High School Boys Lacrosse Varsity Assistant & JV Head Coach Openings

Friendswood High School Boys Lacrosse is seeking passionate and knowledgeable Varsity Assistant & JV Head Coach candidates for the 2025–2026 season. We are building a competitive and character-driven program and are looking for coaches who are committed to mentoring student-athletes, growing the sport in our community, and fostering a culture of excellence both on and off the field.

Varsity & Junior Varsity – Season: Fall 2025 / Spring 2026 (with potential for renewal)
District: Friendswood ISD / Class C 

Positions Available:

  • Assistant Coach – Varsity Boys Lacrosse
  • Head Coach – JV Boys Lacrosse
  • Youth Development Coach – Friendswood Youth Lacrosse (optional involvement)

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of lacrosse fundamentals, strategy, and player development
  • Ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes
  • US Lacrosse coaching certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must pass a background check and meet FISD coaching requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist in planning and executing practices, games, and team events
  • Provide position-specific instruction and feedback (e.g., offense, defense, goalie, faceoff)
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive team culture
  • Communicate effectively with players, families, and school administration
  • Support youth lacrosse development through clinics and community engagement
  • Collaborate with the Lacrosse Booster Club and Athletic Department on program goals
  • Ensure compliance with league rules, safety standards, and school policies

Compensation:

  • Competitive stipend based on experience and role
  • Additional opportunities for youth coaching and clinics may be available
