Saint Mary’s Hall is seeking assistant men’s lacrosse coaches who will work with the varsity team for the duration of the upcoming 2013 season. Successful candidates will possess a strong understanding of the fundamentals and the communication skills necessary to teach them to our players. They should also have a genuine love for the game and for working with student-athletes. Ideal candidates would have experience on the offensive end of the field and/or experience coaching the face-off game. Additionally, previous experience coaching at the high school or playing at the college level is preferred. There is also the possibility of additional coaching opportunities helping instruct an after-school physical education (fundamental lacrosse skills) class, Nov. '12-Jan '13. Preseason practice begins February 4, and the season runs through the end of April.
Saint Mary’s Hall is a coeducational private school located in northeast San Antonio. The school boasts a strong lacrosse tradition dating back to the beginnings of competitive lacrosse in the state, winning three straight THSLL championships from 1998-2000. Saint Mary’s Hall competes in the Southwest Preparatory Conference, consisting of independent schools in Texas and Oklahoma, and participates as a member of the Texas High School Lacrosse League’s Division II - San Antonio District. The program experienced success in its first year at the Division II level, finishing 7-1 to close out to 2012 regular season and finishing second overall after an appearance in the district championship game. Salary: Stipend. Appointment: Part-Time, 4+ months.
