Varsity Defensive Coach, JV Head Coach and 7/8 Grade Coach Needed.
Rangers Lacrosse is looking for experienced lacrosse coaches to work with its growing Varsity/JV program.
VRHS has a solid tradition of lacrosse and has expanded its program to the youth level in 2012. Vista Ridge is a public high school in the Leander Independent School District. The Rangers play in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) Central Division.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be able and willing to communicate with players, parents and other coaches. Serves as a role model and teaches respect for self and mutual respect towards other players and coaches. Understands the values and life lessons young men can learn through participation in team sports. Institutes a system of team building and sportsmanship indicative of a top-tier lacrosse program. Is organized, structured and motivated in approach to both practices and game-day preparations. Leads by example and demonstrates a positive attitude towards participants in the program and understands the influence he has on players. Must undergo a background check.
Duties include teaching fundamentals of lacrosse, good sportsmanship, leadership, respect of teachers and adults, fair play, the importance of academics; attending team practices, games and coaches meetings- team practices are generally held 3-4 times per week, weekday evenings and Saturday mornings; travel with the team 2-3 per year; abide by policies on tobacco, alcohol and drugs; help develop game day strategy appropriate to competition and scouting as necessary.
