Flower Mound Lacrosse (FMLA), home of the 2013 Texas High School DII State Champion Boys & Runner-Up Girls, is seeking part-time lacrosse coaches.
These positions offer applicants competitive compensation (no benefits) and are also opportunities to lead exceptional young men and women who continue to help grow an already successful lacrosse program. Preference will be given to candidates with recent high school and/or collegiate lacrosse playing and coaching experience.
In addition, the successful candidates must have excellent communication, teamwork, lacrosse, and coaching skills. You must be able to work with athletes of all skill levels. Applicants should possess the proper character to serve as a mentor to student-athletes, the demonstrated ability to teach the game of lacrosse, good organizational and written skills, and the interpersonal skills required to serve as a representative of FMLA and the sport of lacrosse. Coaching Certificate as well as a US Lacrosse membership required and can be completed prior to the start of the season.
Responsibilities include practice planning, conducting practice, instruction, supervision, and development of the men’s lacrosse team; recruiting, attending games/tournaments, overseeing player activities; and effective communication with team members, parents and FMLA organization.
Other Duties: Recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes; academic monitoring; travel logistics; player management; administrative duties; assistance with team non-competition events such as community service activities and fundraising; and assisting the head coach in overseeing a program that abides by all U.S. Lacrosse rules and regulations.
The schedule is flexible. Team practices and games (Spring) are weekdays after school and weekends. Tournaments (Fall) are typically Friday through Sunday.
