Bowie Bulldogs Lacrosse has openings for High School Varsity( Defensive Coordinator) and JV Assistant Coaches for the upcoming fall and spring seasons. As an assistant coach, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the head coach and helping the team reach its goals. Your focus will be on player development, team management, and contributing to the program's overall success. Bowie Bulldogs Lacrosse encourages you to consider coaching with us for the upcoming fall and spring seasons. The high school program competes in the C division of the Central District of the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL). Coaching positions are part-time with a competitive pay structure.
RESPONSIBILITIES Support Head Coach: Assist the head coach in planning and executing practices, drills, and game strategies Collaborate with the head coach in player development and performance evaluation Provide input on roster decisions, lineup selections, and in-game adjustments Player Development: Work with individual players to improve their skills in specific areas, such as stick work, footwork, and positioning Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to players during practices and games Help create a positive and competitive practice environment that fosters player growth and teamwork Scouting and Analysis: Assist in scouting opponents and analyzing game film to identify strengths, weaknesses, and tendencies Contribute to the development of game plans and strategies based on scouting reports and analysis Team Management: Assist with organizing team activities, including practices, meetings, and team events Help maintain equipment and facilities used by the team Serve as a liaison between players, coaching staff, and other stakeholders Player Support and Mentorship: Build positive relationships with players and provide mentorship and guidance as needed Support players' academic and personal development, emphasizing the importance of balance and self-discipline Assist in promoting a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and accountability within the team
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS FALL: October- December 2024 (2-3 events per week). Practice and 1-3 tournaments and/or scrimmages. SPRING: beginning in early February 2025 and ends late April 2025 (approximately) Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional, positive, and respectful relationships with student-athletes, other coaches, officials, parents, and members of the club's board Willing to coach an overall HS system to ensure players are ready for the next level within the program Remain aware of all legal liabilities related to all athletic activities and ensure a safe environment for all athletes. Complete knowledge and understanding of the rules of the game (NCAA and THSLL) Previous lacrosse playing experience (NCAA, MCLA, JUCO, High School coaches) SALARY: To be discussed, based on experience level.
