Central District News

It is our pleasure to announce that we (Friends of Cental Texas Lacrosse or FoCTL) will be awarding team and individual sportsmanship awards as we did in 2005. These awards are intended to promote the highest ideals of athletic competition to boys and girls playing lacrosse at the high school level in the Central District. Four awards of $500 each will given to one boys team, one girls team, one male player and one female player that provides an exemplary level of sportsmanship during the 2006 season. Attached are the forms for (i) the 2006 Sportsman-Scholar Awards and (ii) the 2006 Team Sportsmanship Awards. If I missed anyone who should be included in the distribution of these materials, please help spread the word and forward this along. The logistics for the awards is as follows:

Sportsman-Scholar Awards: All entries should be sent to Lee Smith(address is on the form) and must be post-marked no later than April 21, 2006. The nomination form states that the FOCTL board will determine the winners of these awards. The nomination form also states that the awards will be announced in connection with the District Playoffs. Eligibility requirements are listed on the form.

Team Sportsmanship Awards: There are no nomination forms for this one. A selection committee will be formed to evaluate boys and girls teams.
