James Bowie High School (BHS) in Austin, TX is seeking experienced individuals to help sustain the rapid growth of the boys lacrosse program.

BHS is a 5A high school in South Austin. The boys lacrosse program is a school affiliated and sanctioned club sport but is not a state sanctioned sport in Texas.

The boys varsity program competes in the Central District, Division 1 of the Texas High School Lacrosse League and Bowie is the 2009 defending district champion. The following positions are open

Varsity Assistant Coach. The program is seeking a defensive coordinator for the Spring 2010 season. The successful candidate would have collegiate playing and prior coaching experience.

Duties would include overseeing all aspects of the teams defense, including practice management, scouting, and games. The defensive coordinator would report directly to the head coach. The position is part time and does not include any other teaching responsibilities. Salary is negotiable.

Junior Varsity Coaches. The junior varsity team had a very successful 2009 season with a record of 17-1. Additional coaches are needed due to the increasing number of players in the boys lacrosse program and the possibility of adding an additional developmental team to the program. The successful candidate would have college playing experience and preferably prior coaching experience, but not required.

Duties would be dependent upon prior experience, but would include practice management and games. All junior varsity coaches report directly to the varsity head coach. The positions are part time and do not include any teaching responsibilities. Salaries are dependent upon experience.
