The US Lacrosse-North Texas Chapter is pleased to announce that we will serve as hosts for the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Championship at FC Dallas' Pizza Hut Park on May 15-19, 2007. Building upon last year's successful event, we are committed to spreading the word about this event as early and as often as possible to every member of the Texas lacrosse community.
To help boost excitement and attendance at this event, we are initiating a program that will benefit Texas High School and Junior (youth) programs. This includes two initiatives available to any lacrosse club or individual:
1. $2 rebate on each ticket sold (see www.mclachamptx.com for ticket pricing and request forms); and
2. 15% commission of all MCLA Championship sponsorship money that is obtained.
The team that sells the most tickets will be announced during the halftime of the Championship game that is televised on CSTV. We hope that these two incentives will make it possible for you to bring friends along for the semifinals and final games held on Friday, May 18, 2007, and Saturday, May 19, 2007. Admission is free for the elimination games on Tuesday through Thursday.
If you have any questions, please contact Larry Monaco our Event Director at 214-906-9130 or ed@MCLAchampTX.com.
ABOUT THE MCLA CHAMPIONSHIP
The teams that travel to Texas for this event are the best of the MCLA. MCLA member schools provide more opportunities for Texas student-athletes to compete in lacrosse at the collegiate level. Teams that competed in last year's championship were: Arizona; Brigham Young; Colorado; Colorado State; Florida State; Michigan; Oregon; Southwestern; Texas; UC-San Diego; and UC-Santa Barbara.
There are over 200 club teams sanctioned by the MCLA. MCLA teams compete at Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, TCU, UTA, UNT, Austin College, Southwestern, Texas State and many other schools. There are no NCAA sanctioned lacrosse teams in the State of Texas. In addition, MCLA teams exist in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska.
Make no mistake; MCLA is "Big-Time€ lacrosse.
In addition to the above initiatives, we will be requesting for volunteers to help during the week in various capacities. These volunteers will receive a "staff€ t-shirt and one complimentary ticket valid for all games on Friday and Saturday. For more information about advertising, sponsorships, and tickets check our website - www.mclachamptx.com.
Thanks and the best of luck to you in the upcoming 2007 Lacrosse Season
