Georgetown High School Lacrosse is currently seeking an energetic Head Coach with a strong lacrosse background and acumen who wants to teach and mentor young athletes and contribute to the growth of the Georgetown lacrosse program.
Description of the Position:
Manage and coordinate the operations of the lacrosse High School program that runs from October through May; serve as Head Coach and mentor to the High School athletes on the team. Must model integrity, have a strong work ethic, and be fully committed to the growth, safety and development of our student-athletes. Positive role modeling that provides focus on the development of good sportsmanship, leadership qualities, and personal and team growth is expected. The ability to promote the program to students, parents, and community is important. Monitoring student-athlete academic performance is required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience coaching at a High School level or higher
Previous lacrosse playing experience required (NCAA, MCLA, JUCO, High School)
Strong communication and leadership qualities are a must
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a culture for the program that supports HS Athletics Core Values.
Attend all games and practices.
Oversee, direct and supervise all coaches.
Develop and implement an organized, consistent practice plan
Run drills effectively, keep players focused at practice, break down game tape
Ensure all players learn all aspects of the game and have proper opportunities to develop these skills in practice and games.
Communicate important information regarding team news, practice, game changes, etc. to coaches and parents in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate with the Georgetown High School lacrosse VP on game and practice schedules/locations.
Maintain a positive/reinforcing attitude toward the team.
Abide by all club policies.
